Hotel Pools

While almost every hotel now comes with a pool, standard, hotels are now starting to compete with one another based on the quality of their pools. Especially in traveler hot spots, pools are marketing their pools the same way they market their rooms and restaurants.

In Las Vegas, pools compete to be flashiest, showiest and most fabulous. Many people choose which hotel to stay in based on the pool. Whether it's surrounded by Italian marble statue replications, the most scantily-clad cocktail waitresses, or touting the worlds largest man made beach, the pools in Las Vegas are a marketing marvel.

In spring break hot spots, hotel pools compete to have the biggest parties. Booze-fueled parties that include t-shirt contests, dance-offs, and let's face it, some pretty tight bodies are the main attraction in many spring break spots. However, only hotel customers are allowed in sans admission, so choosing the right hotel with the right parties is an art. In these places, hotels are considered better than others based on the party they throw.

For those who have the "money is no object" mentality, the hotel pool must be a place of relaxation, luxury and pampering. The highest end hotels boast private cabanas and tents complete with full service butler and wait staff. The rich clientele choose which hotel to stay at during their travels based on how good they're going to be treated while lounging by the pool.
