Portable Pools

The state of our country is truly a paradox right now. The slumping economy, mixed with increasing gas prices, and warmer temperatures and longer summers means people are taking less vacations, but exposed to more heat and summer climates!

As such, many people who cannot afford inground pools are exploring the option of portable pools, or large-scale inflatable pools. And these are not just baby pools anymore! They truly allow you to take a refreshing dip without having to spend 20K on a complete overhaul to your backyard (and weekend schedule!).

One very important thing to remember, that many inflatable pool owners are unaware of is that you still need a building permit to install your inflatable pool. According to most building codes, a building permit is required for any structure intended for swimming or bathing that will contain more than 24 inches of water. One thing the building permit will include is a stipulation on barriers, which include fences, dense shrubbery or walls.

Essentially the building permit and barrier stipulation are in place to assure that unsuspecting children and animals cannot wander into your yard and make their way into your inflatable pool.

An inflatable pool can be a great way to help your family cool off right at home during these ever increasing hot summer months. However, you need to take the same safety and practical precautions as other pool owners. Look into your local laws regarding the necessities to getting an inflatable pool in your backyard!
